Burjuman Center is one of the oldest shopping malls in Dubai, located in the residential area of Bur Dubai, developed and owned by the Al Ghurair Group.

The distinctive landmark comprises over 2.8 million square feet of a mixed use of space, including the shopping mall, business tower, hotel suites and duplex residences. The shopping mall comprises over 800,000 square feet arranged over a basement, ground plus 5 floors and a mechanical level.

The strategy of the refurbishment work was to upgrade the existing Mall facilities within the minimum budget and shortest time period to reduce the Client’s loss of revenue. ECC’s scope included:

• Demolition work
• Structural strengthening of the existing structure
• Construction of a new steel structure to house a 14 no Cinem
• Relocation of MEP equipment and the renovation of the complete MEP distribution system while maintaining the interfacing between the two Blocks
• Internal renovation work to enable the construction of a new Hypermarket Carrefour in the Ground floor.
• New finishes to all existing public areas by introducing complete shop front glazing system.
