ECC was appointed as the main contractor to build the 3D printed office for Dubai Municipality that has won the Guinness World Record for the ‘Largest 3D Printed Building in the World’. ECC worked in partnership with its associated companies: Abanos Interior Fit-out and Joinery, Prime Metal Industries (PMI) and Prime Ready Mix (PRM) to successfully fabricate and install wooden doors, glass, aluminium panels and manufacture special concrete respectively.

The construction of the project posed multiple challenges and underwent extensive research and ‘Trial and Error’ testing for structural integrity, harsh weather conditions, the topography of the land and required innovative solutions. In the future, construction cost can be reduced by over 50%, material waste by 60% and labour cost by 50%.
