Mr. Tarek Iskandarani, the PMI General Manager, sits down for an interview

1. You've been with the ECC Group specifically in PMI for quite a while. What keeps you motivated?
"My motivation as a General Manager is to make other leaders. In my roles at work and in other organizations, my goal is to encourage others to take the initiative and strive to achieve a common goal. There is nothing like seeing your team succeed! I like to move things, drive progress, and have an impact. I love to see others win. But also the journeys we enjoy together as a team, the experiences we make, the obstacles we overcome, the things we get done, and the achievements we celebrate. The joy of being in a team pursuing a purpose and the thrill to strive for a common goal - with success."

2. Can you share your leadership style?
"A leader is defined not by themselves but by people who choose to follow them. On the other hand, I am very selective in staff recruitment; I ensure proper training on both technical and personal aspects of work. I tend to delegate responsibilities while monitoring the performance and productivity of a particular department. I see it as creating a friendly atmosphere among staff to create leaders by giving incentives and motivations and creating opportunities for the staff to become more efficient and innovative. I am passionate about something; I intend to inspire people. I believe that passion comes. First, the role of leadership follows."

3. Have you ever had a project with an insufficient budget or resources?
How did you manage it? What did you do to solve it?
"We have many projects with specific budgets, and sometimes we experience the sudden escalation of material cost, which undermines that budget. In such a case, we work backward by setting up the following constants. Despite these challenges, we focus on manipulating productivity at the factory and site by creating a challenging atmosphere to encourage the staff to achieve our target."

4. What key factors do you take into consideration when evaluating overall organizational performance?

5. How do you think PMI will change in 5 years, and how do you see yourself creating that change?
"We, as a team thriving to always be dynamic in this fast-growing Market while introducing new elements (unique) to be different and distinguished in the Market. Our primary target is to become a pioneer in the Aluminum and Steel Works industry, including architectural metal panels. We are constantly introducing new ideas, upgrading systems, and keeping up with the new (futuristic/digitalized) technology while investing in people is fundamental for growth and success."
