“I decided to join ECC because of its strong reputation and track record in the construction industry. ECC was established in 1975 and has completed numerous landmark projects in UAE. The company's extensive experience and expertise and association with significant regional clients attracted me to this esteemed organization.

Furthermore, ECC's well-organized structure and excellent systems demonstrate its commitment to delivering high-quality projects. The fact that ECC is a group of companies, including sister companies specializing in joinery, aluminum, and MEP works, further highlights their comprehensive approach to construction.

  1. Why did you choose the technical side of project management?

“I chose to focus on the technical side of construction as a Technical Manager because of my deep-rooted passion for engineering and the desire to contribute my expertise in a hands-on capacity. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong understanding of the intricacies involved in construction projects. I find great fulfillment in overseeing the technical aspects to ensure successful project execution.

As a Technical Manager, my role primarily revolves around providing leadership and guidance to the technical team, ensuring that our engineering works progress smoothly and align with project goals. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with the team, conducting regular meetings to discuss progress, addressing challenges, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Working in a technical capacity allows me to apply my engineering knowledge and experience directly to the construction processes. I take pride in reviewing and evaluating the work of team members, ensuring accuracy, adherence to project requirements, and compliance with quality standards and regulations. I also collaborate with other departments, such as Procurement and Project Management, to ensure effective coordination and integration of technical activities.

Choosing the technical side of construction as a Technical Manager allows me to stay closely involved with the project's technical aspects, including developing and approving shop drawings, material submittals, and adherence to design specifications. I also serve as one of the points of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders, providing technical expertise and support as required.

Overall, my decision to focus on the technical side as a Technical Manager stems from my genuine passion for engineering, my enjoyment of hands-on involvement in construction projects, and the satisfaction I derive from ensuring the successful execution of technical tasks.   1. Describe one of your most challenging projects so far. Why was it challenging and what did you do to overcome difficulties?

"Throughout my career as a Technical Manager, I have encountered various challenging projects. Each project presents its unique circumstances that require careful attention and problem-solving. In my experience, I firmly believe that every project is a challenge, and it is through effective teamwork, dedication, and exploring new solutions that difficulties can be overcome.

One of the common challenges I have faced is ensuring the timely delivery of technical works, such as shop drawings and material submittals. These tasks require coordination with multiple stakeholders, adherence to project schedules, and maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism. I emphasize the importance of fostering a collaborative work environment to overcome this challenge. We ensure everyone is aligned and working towards a common goal by conducting regular team meetings, promoting open communication, and establishing clear objectives.

Furthermore, coordination among various stakeholders is key to successful project execution. Maintaining clear and consistent communication is vital whether it's clients, consultants, subcontractors, or internal teams. Regular meetings and a strong emphasis on collaboration help us overcome coordination challenges and keep everyone informed and aligned.

Maintaining a high standard of professionalism and quality is another priority when dealing with challenging projects. We ensure that the technology works meet project specifications and regulatory requirements by implementing rigorous review processes, emphasizing attention to detail, and proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies. One of my key strengths as a Technical Manager is my ability to provide effective leadership and guidance to my team. I prioritize clear communication and ensure team members have a clear sense of direction and objectives. I empower my team to excel and contribute their best by fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

I thrive on collaboration and coordination, recognizing the importance of aligning with other departments and stakeholders. I actively engage with Project Management, clients, and consultants to ensure seamless integration and effective project execution.

Attention to detail is at the core of my work. I have a meticulous approach to reviewing and evaluating technical work, ensuring accuracy, compliance with project requirements, and adherence to quality standards.
